PROJECT PLAN OF “A HEALTHY MIND IN A HEALTHY BODY
Description
Some chronic diseases are caused by unhealthy nutrition and obesity, diabetes and so on are becoming a global problem. We and our partner schools will do some activities for making awareness to these problems.
Age Range : 14-17 ages
Duration: 6 months
Aims
-Protecting our children from chronic diseases like diabetes, obesity, hyper tension, etc.
-Making awareness about wrong diets.
-Making clear that fast food means fast death
-Stressing the importance of homemade food and healthy food
Process:
January
Firstly the schools will meet each other with a webinar for brainstorming about the participants’ comtries' eating habits .
Then they will talk about the eating habits of the pupils and they will search the legislations about the products sold in school canteens.
A facebook group will be created in order to contact easier and quicker and share the work easily.
February
Each school will invite a nutritionist to their schools for seminars and maybe the partners of the pupils will be involved in this seminars as they are responsible for their children's nutrition
All the participants will decide a date and on that date and they will prepare brochures about obesity and other food caused diseases.
They will share these brochures in their social media accounts to disseminate the project to many people.
March
All the schools will prepare a poster about wrong eating habits using the technology and will hand out this poster to every shop and the state hospital around their school.
At the end a contest will be held. With the participation of arts teachers of all the participant schools a painting contest will be held and the winners' works will be uploaded to the twinspace of the project.
April
The participant pupils and their parents will cook healthy dishes and they will take photos of their activities.
With the warming weather some warming activities will be done with the guidance of PE teachers at school
May
Football and volleyball tournaments will be held with the guidance of PE teachers at schools to be fit and healthy.
If possible hiking activities will be held
E-books about the right eating habits by using web 2.0 tools and the links of the e books will be shared from the twinspace.
June
An exhibition about the project will be held and the authorities and the experts of nutrition will be invited. The society will be invited too and the effects of the project will be widened.
EXPECTED RESULTS
With this project both the pupils and their neighbourhood will be informed about globesity and its effects. Wrong eating habits will turn into right eating habits with the help of the parents and participants. An awareness will be achieved about the fatal effects of fast food and the importance of healthy nutrition for healthy generations. As the students will use for the design of their posters and brochures, they will learn how to use web 2.0 tools and ICT. If countries from the Europe or English spoken countries take place in our project, this collaboration will help pupils to improve their English and they will be more self confident.
